Happy Tuesday! I hope you all have had a great week so far. It’s been nice and fall-ish in the Dallas area the past few days, thank goodness! So glad it’s starting to cool down. And I love all the rain we are getting. 😍
So I weighed yesterday and I lost 6 lbs on keto last week. Whoop whoop! But it’s the non-scale victories (nsv) last week that I’d like to talk about. For some reason, this time is different. I’m not sure if I’ve gotten into ketosis quickly or what but my head seems clear and I’m more focused on losing weight and working out. But there are 3 instances that I’d like to talk about that are more mental than anything.
First instance - last week (Wednesday I believe) I really wanted to go and grab something to eat rather than eat at home. It’s so much easier to grab something than cook it right? But I made myself cook chicken and veggies for dinner rather than stopping at Chipotle or Dairy Queen. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Second instance - Friday my coworkers bought me a red velvet bundtlet when they were out. And if you know me, you know I throw down on anything red velvet. But I looked up the grams of carbs for the bundtlet and decided I would only eat half since that’s all I could really afford in the carb department. And I did. I didn’t go home and eat the rest, I ate it the next day. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Third instance - I went to Target this weekend and found myself in the Halloween section. Halloween is my favorite holiday so I always love to go through the stuff. I came up on the snack section and saw their little mini tubs of cotton candy. Now, this time last year, I would be buying one of each (at least) to eat at home. And honestly, their carb count isn’t terrible. But I WALKED PAST THEM. I may have walked back by a couple of times but I didn’t pick them up and buy them. That’s HUGE 🙌🏽
So yes, I’m proud of myself for the scale victory but I’m almost more proud of the nsv!
